Shabana is a highly experienced family lawyer with 27 years’ experience advising clients on financial remedy proceedings and children disputes.
She is particularly recognised for acting in high-value divorce cases involving family business assets, inherited wealth in marriage, third party family assets and trusts, pensions, property portfolios, farming interests and assets held internationally. She regularly advises business owners, company directors, professionals and individuals seeking to protect pre-marital wealth, inheritance and family-owned assets. Her approach is strategic, practical and result focused whilst working with accountants, pension experts and valuers to ensure assets are properly identified, valued and her client’s interests protected.
Alongside her financial remedies practice, Shabana has extensive experience in children law, including child arrangements, shared care disputes, relocation cases and international children matters. She advises parents in complex disputes involving where children should live, the time they spend with each parent, internal and international relocation, and cases where children have been removed from a jurisdiction without consent. She is particularly experienced in advising fathers seeking meaningful and lasting involvement in their children’s lives.
Admitted as a solicitor in 1999, Shabana spent more than two decades as a partner in her own London practice and now brings this wealth of experience to NLS as Head of Private Family Law. She is known for providing clear, robust and commercially focused advice, combining a pragmatic approach to settlement with strong representation where litigation cannot be avoided.
